Arthur Dish Tours

Delve into the heart of Arthur!
this is a truly unique opportunity to go inside the oldest working antenna in the world, which is now a Grade II listed building. Affectionately known as "Arthur", this iconic satellite dish is visible for miles around and is situated on the beautful Lizard Peninsular.

This tour is a technical guided tour looking at the internal workings of the dish including the massive 3 ton chain that gently moves the 1100 ton dish and the opportunity to climb onto the restricted apron.

We will provide suitable hard hats, boots and high vis jackets during the tour.

There is a charge for this tour. Height restrictions apply, tours dependent on weather conditions as external access is required. Restricted disabled access. As Arthur is a working dish, tours may be cancelled at short notice.

Arthur tours can be booked at the main information kiosk inside the visitors centre.

Nature Tours

Leave the dishes behind
Take a wonderful journey of discovery and explore the history and landscape of the Goonhilly Downs. Take a guided tour around the perimeter of the satellite station, taking in ancient burial mounds and the standing stone and learning more about the inhabitants of this protected heathland.

We recommend that suitable walking boots are worn as the ground can be uneven and very muddy in places, especially after heavy rain. There plenty of nature books available to buy in our gift shop for those who like to find out more about the flora and fauna of this area of outstanding natural beauty.
